“After leaving University I was lucky enough to begin my insurance career on an “underwriting commercial trainee programme” at Independent Insurance. In the late 1990’s I started working for a local brokerage, as a commercial broker. I loved and thrived on the change and challenge that broking threw at me, and knew it was the right decision and have never looked back. In 2013 I joined A&B in a broking capacity, and in 2019 I progressed to Broking Manager. I now manage a team of brokers and look after many operational areas of the business, which in addition includes looking after a small bank of our key clients.
Over the years I have focused on my training and development, along with building my exposure and experience with clients, understanding their business and processes to ensure their insurance programme is built right. Over the years I have forged many key relationships with underwriters and clients alike. I am a wife to Peter, and we have two teenage children Ryan and Rachel. We have two pets, a guinea pig called Domino and a cat called Tiger. Outside of work I love to travel, enjoy working out at the gym, along with being active outdoors. As a family we regularly visit Dumfries and Galloway, where we have opportunity to enjoy our sail boats and kayaks, taking in the stars, spotting birds of prey, badgers and deer.”
